Scuba Gear

Hi all,

Sorry I have not been posting lately, I've been away from my computer. Let's start off though with what you will need to be fully equipped for SCUBA diving:

-a Buoyancy Compensator (controls your buoyancy-you shoot for neutral buoyancy)
-a regulator (the device that takes the air in a SCUBA cylinder and converts it to a breathable level)
-a wetsuit (every diver needs one of these-it's a necessity especially in cold waters)
-a SCUBA cylinder (this is self-explainable)
-a mask (for seeing)
-a snorkel (you can conserve air if you use this on the surface)
-fins (for obvious reasons)
-booties (if you use open-heeled fins)

And there you have it! All the basic gear you need to get underwater. If you have any questions, feel free to post on my blog, and I'll do my best to help you out. Tomorrow's topic will be "Getting Certified".

Happy diving!

Sam
